Overview
The Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI) is focused on developing an open, extensible standard for providing media transparency. It aims to restore trust in digital content by enabling creators to attach secure metadata, known as Content Credentials, to their work. These credentials provide information about who created the content and how it has been altered, promoting better evaluation and verification. The CAI provides open-source tools to integrate C2PA Content Credentials into websites, apps, and services. The initiative is designed to be cross-industry, encouraging broad participation to establish a widespread ecosystem of content transparency. By providing this infrastructure, the CAI helps combat disinformation and promotes a more trustworthy online environment. The project emphasizes open standards and collaboration to ensure broad adoption and interoperability.
